Nothing on the module this time - just want to note that we did this session in-person at SaintCon, in the Hyatt Meeting Room #4. We had a few curious onlookers, but no one stayed longer than 30 seconds or so. We had some technical difficulties, and with a long con day for some of us, it ended up being a shorter session.
This paid off, Ballador Darkhammer found a small slot in the wall near the south east corner of the chapel with a round "O" like engraving below it. He tried dropping a coin in the slot, and other than hearing it roll away, nothing happened. The next attempt was with the ring that the group found in the last room with the 3 chests, by unraveling a thread of their rope, tying it to the ring, and dropping it in the slot. It went about 3 inches in before it stopped, but they were able to pull it back with the string.
Next, Pippen tried casting Clairvoyance to see beyond the slot in the wall, but it was dark, and he was able to see or hear anything. So finally, they decided to just drop the ring in. At that point, a 2 foot wide, 4 foot high, and 10 feet deep stone gate in the shape of a wedge, dropped to the floor level, allowing the party to walk through to a corridor beyond. There was no sight of the ring that was dropped into the slot.

The corridor beyond turned south with stairs heading down. Walking carefully, and tapping in front of themselves with a 9 foot pole, the party moved down the stairs, turned the corner, and stopped at a door.
The party listened at the door, and Shade cast a Find Traps spell, but nothing glowed as trapped. So Pippen decided to just open the door. The door opened so easily (greased hinges?) that he actually fell through the door, falling on the floor beyond, which opened up into a pit with spikes at the bottom! But he was lucky and missed them all, although he took 4 hp damage just from the 10 foot fall to the bottom.
The party then used ropes and grappling hooks to climb to the bottom of the pit, and up the other side in order to get to another door beyond the pit. This one they opened much more carefully, and Shade was able to see a the floor glowing from the find traps spell. They intentionally set off the trap with the 9 foot pole, and used ropes and grappling hooks to move beyond just like last time. Beyond was yet another door, with yet another spiked pit beyond. The party moved successfully beyond the final door, to see that the corridor turned toward the north.

The party then proceeded north along a VERY long hallway, until they came to a:
LOCKED OAKEN DOOR: The gate is heavily bound with iron bands and there are several locks apparent.

The party listened at the door:
If a character listens with an ear to the door, he or she will hear far-off music and happy singing, obviously coming from somewhere beyond. The party was unable to pick the locks, or open the door with any spell, so they decided to just start chopping it down. It made a lot of noise, but after some work, the door shattered, and:
Once the door is destroyed, sound of confusion and running (away) can be heard from the north - all music and singing has ceased. There is a faint glow (torchlight?) northwards. The walls of the passage are of smooth white alabaster, and the floor is very smooth, highly polished gray marble. The party moved cautiously forward, tapping the floor again, until at a point some 40 feet from the door, a click was heard and the floor started tilting downward to the north. I waited a prescribed time for anyone to tell me how they would react, but no one did. So I showed this picture:

The tilting had hit the point of no return, and the party slid downward on the increasingly tilting floor until they were all dropped into a pit of flames and molten lava.

So that ended the session. The group decided that next session would be Session Zero for the original I6 - Ravenloft, and that we would come back to Tomb of Horrors at some point when we want to do a one-shot session.
Lastly, Alisha shared this on Discord later that night

:)
