Blackjack holds one of the doors open, and as Hagar kicks the other door, the rusted hinge gives away and it slams to the ground, splintering into pieces.
Angar strides forward quickly into the gloomy hallway, making it 10 feet forward before the floor gives away beneath his feet. However, living up to his “Surefoot” name, he is able to catch himself with one hand on the lip of the pit, before losing grip and falling to the bottom. He only takes half damage from the fall. I rolled a 6, so Angar takes 3 HP damage from the fall.
Hagar, also in front, stops plenty short of the pit, but Amethist, perhaps disoriented from the change from bright sunlight to a dimly lit hallway, bumps into him from behind. Hagar falls to his knees, dropping his battle axe, which goes skittering across the floor and falls into the pit, landing harmlessly on the bottom next to Angar.
Whisper and Blackjack enter without incident.
You notice that there is barely a foot of room between each wall and the sides of the pit. It looks like you could bypass the pit on foot, if care is taken.
Next Step
Roll Turn dice, describe how you exit or bypass the pit, describe your approach to opening the inner double doors, and any other actions you wish to take.
